Vitamin D in winter: what the data say
Vitamin D is formed in the skin under the influence of sunlight. In months with low sunshine, its natural production falls, and getting it from food becomes more important.
This is a physiological fact, not a recommendation to take a particular product. The decision on any possible supplementation of vitamin D — especially for children, pregnant women and older people — is best discussed with a doctor or dietitian.
